H-Class Performance at a Lower Price
Our AMA insulation paper is a three-layer composite. The structure is aramid paper – Mylar film – aramid paper. The difference between AMA and NMN is the aramid paper brand. NMN uses Nomex. AMA insulation paper can use domestic aramid paper. That is why the price is lower than NMN. Last year, an Indonesian transformer trader came to us. His customer needed H-class insulation but had a limited budget. He said NMN was too expensive. We recommended our AMA insulation paper. We used Metastar™, a high-end domestic aramid paper brand. The performance was close to NMN. The price was 30% cheaper. He placed a trial order of 1 ton. He was very satisfied after using it. Now he repeats the order every quarter.
What the Letters Mean
The "A" stands for aramid paper. The "M" stands for Mylar polyester film. The "A" stands for aramid paper again. So it is called AMA insulation paper. The middle Mylar film provides mechanical strength and breakdown voltage. The aramid paper on both sides provides heat resistance and flame retardancy. We have a three-in-one laminating machine. This machine can laminate all three layers at once. The bonding is even. There are no bubbles and no wrinkles. Many small factories use two machines to do it in two steps. That method easily causes bubbles. We did a performance test. We put our AMA insulation paper in an oven at 180°C for 72 hours. Its breakdown voltage dropped from 11 kV to 10.2 kV. That is a drop of less than 8%. The industry standard allows 15%. We are much better than the standard.
