PMP Insulation Paper

Our PMP insulation paper is a three-layer composite. Its full name is polyester film – polyester fiber non-woven fabric – polyester film. That means two layers of PET film with one layer of non-woven fabric in between. What is the difference between PMP and DMD? DMD has one PET layer with non-woven fabric on both sides. Our PMP insulation paper has the opposite structure. It has one non-woven layer with PET film on both sides. PMP is stiffer than DMD. This makes it better for automatic slot insertion machines. Stiff materials do not curl at the edges. A motor factory with an automated production line came to us. They used an automatic slot insertion machine. Before, they used DMD. DMD was too soft. The material curled up during insertion. The machine often stopped with an alarm. We recommended our PMP insulation paper. They tried it and said it worked well. The material was stiff. The insertion was smooth. Now they use 1.5 tons of PMP insulation paper every month.

The structure of our PMP insulation paper is: PET film – polyester fiber non-woven fabric – PET film. The outer PET film provides stiffness and breakdown voltage. The inner non-woven fabric provides flexibility and a basic level of heat resistance. Total thickness can range from 0.08 mm to 0.45 mm. We tested our PMP insulation paper and DMD on the same automatic slot insertion machine. The waste rate for PMP was 0.5%. The waste rate for DMD was 2.5%. For a customer, every 1% reduction in waste can save tens of thousands of RMB a year. Our high-precision slitting machines can cut our PMP insulation paper into strips as thin as 2.3 mm.
