While standard SHS prepreg prioritizes structural strength, the high bonding strength version optimizes resin formula and resin content to significantly boost interfacial adhesion between glass fiber cloth and dissimilar materials including metals and insulation paper, while retaining the high-strength advantages of glass fiber cloth substrates. It serves as a superior solution for application scenarios requiring both structural strength and robust bonding force such as transformer coil fixation and copper foil-insulation layer bonding, delivering insulation, reinforcement and bonding functions simultaneously through a single thermal compression process.

By optimizing the epoxy resin formula with added tougheners and coupling agents, we substantially improve resin wettability and adhesion to glass fiber cloth and bonded substrates. Actual test data shows that the peel strength between the high bonding strength version and copper foil exceeds the standard SHS by over 35%, with bonding force attenuation below 10% after 50 hot and cold cycles versus 25% attenuation for the standard variant. A large dry-type transformer manufacturer previously used standard SHS prepreg for copper foil fixation, where large current-induced temperature fluctuations caused edge warping after prolonged operation.
